I met Scott and Staci in Key West, Florida while I was photographing their, and now our, friends Heather & Rob’s wedding on Sunset Key. A few months later they were booking me for their own wedding!
These two are a couple of real sweethearts. Their wedding at Bear Creek Resort was the kind of thing that gives you, “all of the feels.” Believe me, there were plenty of moments when the tissues flowed like wine, but for Scott and Staci it started earlier that week. Just days before the wedding Staci’s grandmother had passed away. During a very emotional moment, Staci’s family presented her with a special locket with her grandmother’s portrait inside. It was such a thoughtful and precious moment, and Staci was able to keep her grandmother close by all day.
Just moments later we were spending some time with Scott and his groomsmen while they got ready. By the way, Bear Creek makes spending time with both the bride and groom super easy, because they’re just a few floors away from each other. Scott was visibly nervous and very anxious to get married. We kept him busy with a few quick portraits before bringing him out to an awesome path that leads to the ceremony for the first look.
I was so happy for Scott when he got that tap on his shoulder and got to turn around and see his beautiful bride. Watching Staci well up as she approached Scott was so freaking sweet, and you could tell that she’d been dreaming of that moment forever.
All of the emotions from the day swiftly transformed into the coolest party vibe imaginable. Scott and Staci infused their reception with details that reflect their love of graphic novels, chocolate fountains, and late 90’s/early 2000’s rock. With the help of Sparx Entertainment, the couple and their guests really tore the house down on the dance floor.
